Christmas Playdough

This invitation to play activity is perfect for the festive season! The beauty of this play dough is that if stored correctly, it could last for up to 6 months!

With Christmas just around the corner, creating an invitation to play activity is a great way to inspire your child's creativity. Once you have made the play dough, use any decorations around the house (or from your tree) to set up a small play world for your child. The rest is up to them! Let them use their imagination for free play with their Christmas play dough set up.

Ingredients:

1 cup water

1 tablespoon vegetable oil (or coconut oil as a vegan option)

1/2 cup salt1 tablespoon cream of tartar

Food colouring

Saucepan

Wooden spoon

1 cup flour

Airtight bags

Essential oils

Method:

1. Combine water, oil, salt and cream of tartar in a saucepan and heat until warm.

2. Remove from heat and add flour and food colouring. Stir, then knead until smooth. 

3. Add essential oils of your choice to add an extra sensory experience to your playdough.

Helpful tips 

Cream of tartar makes play dough last 6 months (or even longer)

Store your dough in an airtight container or an airtight freezer bag
